Voted most unique attraction! Roadside America Museum will have special hours 8am to 8pm, April 4 - 9, 2024 (with paid admission). Classic Car Cruise-In / Show on the day of Eclipse (FREEto public outside show).  Just a block and 1/2 east of the Hill County Courthouse. RAM is located in the 115-year-old Ford building in Downtown Hillsboro, which now houses a fantastic collection of 40s & 50s advertising memorabilia, over 70 advertising and cartoon character statues, classic cars and hotrods, and nostalgic Americana. Children 8 and under FREE.

Enjoy a stroll around historic downtown Hillsboro! Eight local artists will exhibit their work in various locations around town, and each location will feature a Texas adult beverage. Proceeds support the arts in Hillsboro.

Dr. Benford’s astronomical research interests are in extragalactic astrophysics and cosmology, with an emphasis on the formation and evolution of galaxies and their stars. His primary technology research background is in the development of instrumentation for far-infrared and submillimeter astronomy and supporting technologies. Dr. Benford joined NASA at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland in 2001, where he had been a National Research Council postdoctoral fellow with Harvey Moseley. He earned the Ph. D. degree from the California Institute of Technology in 1999 under the supervision of Tom Phillips, and the B. A. degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1992 working for Paul Richards. Dr. Benford has been at NASA Headquarters in the Astrophysics Division since 2013.

Bring your own Solar glasses (or purchase some from Texas Through Time) and let’s get creative for viewing the eclipse in style. This event is FREE and we will supply the materials to add onto any solar eclipse glasses, all you need to do is show up and have fun! Kids can get creative and add their own fun designs. Eclipse craft time is at 11am & again at 5pm on Friday, April 5th. *Museum extended hours for eclipse weekend: Friday-Monday April 5-8 11am-6pm

Come out and join First Baptist Church as we host Overcoming Obstacles. There will be ninja warrior obstacles set up in our Franklin Street parking lot for all to enjoy. Be our guest at this free event and test your strength and ninja warrior skills. This is an event for the whole family. Please know every participant will have to complete a waiver and release of liability form electronically when you get here if you would like to participate.
